Google, viewing that development of Chrome OS-based products necessitates collaboration with Taiwan-based hardware makers, will establish a Chrome OEM/ODM R&D in Taiwan, Sundar Pichai, company senior vice president of Chrome, told a press conference in Taipei on May 31.
The R&D center will be located in the office of Google Taiwan, and Google will hire software engineers specifically responsible for the collaboration.
While Acer and Samsung Electronics are the first two hardware partners for Chromebook, there will be additional partners which are expected to showcase such products at Computex Taipei 2012
