Transcend June revenues up by 9%

Thursday, July 7, 2011

Transcend Information's revenues increased 9.7% sequentially to NT$2.37 billion (US$82.2 million) in June, following two months of sequential drops, according to financial data released by memory module firm. On an annual basis, June sales grew by a mere 0.85% from the NT$2.35 billion posted in June 2010.

Of Transcend's revenues for June 2011, NAND flash products accounted for 65.6% followed by DRAM modules with 18.3%. Strategic products such as digital photo frames and portable electronics devices made up the remainder, the company revealed.

Transcend said shipments of its memory products have been picking up since June as downstream clients begin to replenish stockpiles in preparation for the year's traditional peak season. The company expects July sales to enjoy another on-month growth.

Transcend accumulated NT$14.48 billion in revenues from January through June, showing a 2.1% decrease compared to the same period of 2010.

Fellow memory module company Adata Technology saw its revenues decrease sequentially for the third straight month in June. Revenues for the first six months of 2011 declined 32.6% from a year earlier to NT$15.01 billion.
