United Microelectronics Corporation (UMC) has reported revenues of NT$8.81 billion (US$303 million) for July 2011, down 4.1% on month.

On an annual basis, UMC's July revenues declined by a larger 18.6% from the NT$10.82 billion posted in June 2010.

UMC accumulated NT$65.08 billion in revenues from January through July, showing a 3.3% decrease compared to the same period of 2010.

UMC at its recent investors meeting pointed out a particularly weak third quarter the company would go through. It expects revenues to drop 11-13% sequentially in the third quarter with utilization rate edging down to 71-73%.
