AT&T and HTC have jointly announced that AT&T will begin selling HTC's first 4G LTE/HSPA+ tablet PC, the HTC Jetstream, in the US market on September 4.
The HTC Jetstream, powered by a Qualcomm 1.5GHz Snapdragon dual-core processor, runs on Android 3.1 Honeycomb OS and boasts a 10.1-inch WXGA high-resolution display, according to HTC.
The new tablet supports Adobe Flash Player, AT&T Family Map, AT&T Navigator as well as HTC Scribe, HTC Watch and HTC Hub functionalities, HTC said.
However, initial orders for the HTC Jetstream tablets are likely to be less than 100,000 units a month due to AT&T's high pricing strategy, according to a Chinese-language Commercial Times report, citing sources from Taiwan's tablet PC industry.
The tablet will be available exclusively to AT&T customers online and in company-owned retail stores for US$699.99 with a new two-year contract, according to AT&T.
