HTC has reported consolidated revenues of NT$45.32 billion (US$1.56 billion) for August, a monthly record representing an increase of 0.47% on month and 87.44% on year. Combined revenues for the January-August period reached NT$318.99 billion, up 115.97% from a year earlier.
Market watchers believe HTC's monthly figures will continue to move upward in the third quarter due to the launch of a number of new smartphones.
However, the weakening consumer power in the US and Europe and strong competition from Samsung Electronics may affect HTC's performance in the fourth quarter, the sources noted.
