Elpida Memory have filed a lawsuit against Nanya Technology in the US, claiming that Nanya had infringed on its DRAM patents and demanding compensation from the Taiwan-based company.
Nanya said it has not received notification from the court, and is in the process of understanding the case. Nanya claimed the company respects the intellectual property rights of others, and will consider taking appropriate actions in the matter. Nanya does not expect any material impact on its business.
Elpida filed the lawsuit on September 6 in the US District Court, the Northern District of California, seeking to have Nanya and Nanya USA halt infringement of four of its DRAM technology-related patents and to have them compensate it for damages caused by the infringement
