Samsung Electronics is reportedly outsourcing an ultrabook model to Quanta Computer, while it will manufacture another model in-house.

Both ultrabooks are set to launch in the fourth quarter of 2011, according to a Chinese-language Apple Daily report citing sources from upstream suppliers.

The sources pointed out that this is the first time Samsung has released notebook orders to a Taiwan-based maker, and since Samsung is not launching its ultrabooks at the same time as Asustek Computer and Acer, they are still waiting to determine order volumes, but believe the volumes will not be large, the paper added
