AMD said it will reduce its workforce to boost operation efficiency, AMD Taiwan has reported to the Department of Labor under the Taipei Government that the company will lay off about 24 employees, but the number is estimated to reach as high as 30-40. AMD Taiwan's current staff totals 372.

The layoffs will include employees from the company's product and marketing departments as well as vice president of sales Kevin Yang.

AMD Taiwan has declined to comment.
