Barnes & Noble began to deliver its Nook Tablet to consumers on November 16, two days ahead of its original schedule, aiming to catch the buying spree for Amazon's Kindle Fire.
Barnes & Noble targets to ship 800,000-900,000 Nook Tablets before year-end 2011 but may raise the amount if initial sales are as high as Nook Color e-book readers, according to the sources in the supply chain.
Barnes & Noble has lowered the price for its Nook Color to below US$200 aiming to boost the sale of both the Nook Color and Nook Tablet, the sources noted.
