SanDisk has forecast that overall shipments of its NAND flash-related products to retail channels worldwide will top 700 million units in 2011, up more than 15%.
SanDisk revealed that its retail business accounted for 35% of product revenues in the third quarter of 2011, while the remaining 65% came from the OEM segment. While providing its OEM customers competitive embedded flash storage products, SanDisk has also been expanding its retail market presence and product offerings worldwide, the company said.
In the third quarter, SanDisk's retail business reported growth of 11% sequentially and 8% on year, while revenues generated from the OEM segment were down 1% on quarter but and up 21% from a year ago.
SanDisk reported US$4.08 billion in revenues for the first three quarters of 2011. Revenues for all of the year are expected to exceed US$5 billion, according to market observers.
