Lenovo to unveil Smart-TV at CES

Tuesday, January 10, 2012

Lenovo has unveiled its own-brand smart TVs during a product presentation prior to the opening the CES trade show.

The company plans to start marketing 42- and 55-inch smart TVs in China from April, according to company representatives at the CES.

Lenovo's Internet-connected smart TVs will run on Android 4.0, supporting flicker-free 3D technology and voice control technologies, said the representative, adding that all content and software applications are designed in house at Lenovo.

Lenovo's smart TVs will be powered by Qualcomm's 1.5GHz dual-core 8060 CPUs, with 1GB memory and 8GB HDD storage capacity, added the sources.

The company will also launch a set-top box (STB), the A30, for Internet TVs, powered by a VIA Technologies 1.2GHz Nano CPU.
