Lenovo generated consolidated revenues of US$8.4 billion for the third quarter of its fiscal year 2011 (the fourth quarter of 2011), hitting a quarterly record, according to the company.
Lenovo posted gross margins of 11.4%, net operating profit of US$193 million, pre-tax profit of US$192 million (also a quarterly record) and profit attributable to equity shareholders of US$153 million for the fourth quarter of 2011.
Consolidated revenues consisted of US$3.5 billion from the China market, US$3.6 billion from mature markets (North America, Western Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Japan) and US$1.3 billion from emerging markets. Among product lines, Lenovo recorded US$4.5 billion from sales of notebooks, US$2.8 billion from desktops and US$565 million from smartphones and tablet PCs in the fourth quarter.
Lenovo reached an overall market share of 35.3% in China and an overall global market share of 14.0% in the fourth quarter, both quarterly records.
