Taiwan makers displaying products with small booth

Monday, February 27, 2012

Asustek Computer has decided to not set up a booth at CeBIT 2012 and will find a place near the show to host its clients and media.

Gigabyte Technology and Micro-Star International (MSI) will participate at the show, their scale will not be as large as in previous years.

CeBIT 2012 will be hosted from March 6-10 in Hannover, Germany. ASRock and Biostar also plan to set up small booths at the show.

CeBIT used to one of the major IT shows worldwide and was an important event to help vendors land orders from clients in Europe, but since the Internet is becoming the standard method for communication, while the bond crisis in Europe is still unsolved, the number of participants and buyers at the show has been dropping rapidly.

Motherboard vendors also noted that PC and motherboard related players are now placing their focus on Computex in Taiwan with upstream players such as Intel, AMD and Nvidia, all expected to participate.
