United Microelectronics Corporation (UMC) had revenues of NT$7.52 billion (US$254.68 million) for February, down 6.6% on month and 16.5% on year, according to company data.
For the first two months of 2012, revenues amounted to NT$15.57 billion, decreasing 16% from a year earlier.
Industry sources expect UMC to see its revenues slip within a range of 5% sequentially in the first quarter of 2012, since the company has stated that its ASP is likely to decline 5% on quarter during the January-March period, according to a Chinese-language Commercial Times report. UMC posted revenues of NT$24.43 billion in the fourth quarter of 2011.
