Nanya, Inotera March revenues slides

Tuesday, April 3, 2012 Nanya Technology and Inotera Memories have reported decreases in March 2012 revenues from the previous month of 8% and 2.7%, respectively. Nanya announced revenues of NT$2.98 billion (US$101.3 million) for March, down 20.2% from the NT$3.74 posted for March 2011. Revenues totaled about NT$8.8 billion for the first three months of 2012, slipping 18% from a year ago. Revenues at Inotera declined 30.6% from a year earlier to NT$2.52 billion in March 2012. The firm generated revenues of NT$9.59 billion in the first quarter, a 17.3% decrease from the same period of 2011. Previous reports quoted industry watchers as estimating that major Taiwan-based DRAM firms would report smaller losses for the first quarter of 2012 compared to the prior quarter, as chip prices have stabilized and started rising. Nanya and Inotera are scheduled to discuss their fist-quarter results at an upcoming investors meeting on April 18.
