United Microelectronics Corporation (UMC) has announced revenues of NT$9.11 billion (US$309.86 million) for September, down 7% from the previous month but up 11.5% from a year earlier.

Third-quarter revenues of NT$28.53 billion represented an increase of 3.3% from the previous quarter, higher than market expectations of a 1-3% growth, according to a Chinese-language Commercial Times report.

For the first nine months of 2012, UMC posted revenues of NT$79.91 billion, decreasing 1.9% from a year earlier, the company reported.
