Taiwan-based smartphone vendor HTC report revenue dip below the NT$20 billion mark for the first time in nine months.
HTC's consolidated sales for October 2012 show a decline of 18.55% on month and about 61% from a year ago. Consolidated revenues for the first 10 months of the year amounted to NT$246.22 billion, a 39.7% decrease compared to the same period of 2011.
Despite the recent launch of its new Android and Windows Phone 8 (WP8) devices, HTC has given a cautious guidance for the fourth quarter of 2012.
HTC expects its fourth-quarter consolidated revenues to slip to NT$60 billion from the NT$70.2 billion posted in the prior quarter, with gross margin and operating margin sliding to 23% and 1%, respectively. The anticipated operating margin will be the lowest in the company's history
