Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) has announced consolidated revenues of NT$49.94 billion (US$1.7 billion) for October 2012, a record high, up 15.2% sequentially and 32.8% on year.

Consolidated sales at TSMC totaled NT$424.88 billion for the first 10 months of 2012, rising 18% from a year earlier.

Vanguard International Semiconductor (VIS), a foundry affiliate of TSMC specializing in LCD driver ICs and other analog/mixed-signal chips, has also reported brisk revenue results for October 2012. VIS generated October revenues of NT$1.8 billion, up 23.2% sequentially and hitting the highest monthly level since December 2000.

TSMC expects to post an about 8% sales decrease in the fourth quarter of 2012, while VIS estimated its wafer shipments will be flat or down slightly on quarter.
