Kingston unveils HyperX series, SSDs, Wi-Drive

Tuesday, November 27, 2012

Kingston Technology will exhibit its HyperX series DRAM modules, SSDs (solid-state drives) and Wi-Drive at the 2012 IT Month, an annual IT product fair to take place in Taipei during December 1-9.

Kingston launched first-generation HyperX series in November 2002, paving the way for it to become the global largest DRAM module supplier. In addition to DRAM modules, Kingston is also the largest supplier of flash drives with a global market share of nearly 30% as well as among the world's top five suppliers of flash memory cards.

Kingston recently launched SSDNow V series SSDs which are a combination of NAND flash produced by Toshiba based on 19nm process and controller ICs developed by LSI SandForce. SSDNow V has a read/write speed of 450MB/s and a data transfer speed 10 times those for conventional hard disk drives and is mainly for use to upgrade notebooks.

Kingston has also launched 64GB microSDXC Class 10 memory cards for use in smartphones to store photos, video, music, files and games mainly based on exFAT format.

Kingston's Wi-Drive is a wireless external flash drive which can be connected with the Internet via Wi-Fi for sharing data.
