United Microelectronics Corporation (UMC) and Vanguard International Semiconductor (VIS) have both reported decreases in November 2012 revenues from the previous month.
UMC announced November revenues of NT$9.01 billion (US$310 million), down 2.9% on month but up 11.7% on year. The firm's cumulative 2012 revenues through November increased 0.4% from a year ago to NT$98.2 billion.
Revenues at VIS registered a 13.3% sequential decline to NT$1.56 billion in November. Revenues for the first 11 months of 2012 totaled NT$15.77 billion, up 11.6% from a year earlier.
Both UMC and VIS guided for single-digit revenue decreases sequentially in the fourth quarter of 2012
