HTC has confirmed that it is pushing back the launch date of its new HTC One in certain markets to the end of March.
HTC said that it will start fulfilling pre-orders by the end of March in certain markets and will roll out to more markets in April, according to CNA.
The statement comes after market reports indicated that HTC has been having difficulties securing enough of some key parts, including voice coil motors and compact camera modules for the UltraPixel cameras used in new HTC One.
But sources in the HTC One supply chain stated that current orders and shipments of the handset's chassis, VCMs and camera modules have been normal, and that there are no shortages of certain parts.
However, responding to market reports, HTC's shares plunged NT$10 or 4% to close at close to a three-month low of NT$241 (US$8.11) on the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TSE) on March 13.
