Intel formed a strategic alliance with credit card issuer Visa in 2012 and smartphones using Intel's reference design, will be able to receive Visa's mobile service support after passing certification by Visa PayWave.

Meanwhile, ARM has established a joint venture, Trustonic, with security software designers Gemalto and Giesecke & Devrient to develop a security standard, TEE for Internet devices such as smartphones, tablets, games consoles and smart TVs.

TEE is based on ARM's Trustzone security technology combined with Giesecke & Devrient's smart card technologies and Gemalto's near field communication (NFC) technologies. TEE will be able to conduct many mobile transactions such as online shopping and mobile payments.
