Compal Electronics shipped 3.8 million notebooks and 400,000 tablets in March, together growing 40% on month, according to the company.

With tablets expected to mainly contribute to growth in 2013 consolidated revenues, Compal started shipments of entry-level tablets to Acer in the first quarter of 2013 and will begin shipments of Amazon 7-inch tablets in the third quarter. Compal expects to ship 8-10 million tablets in total in 2013, six times the volume posted in 2012.

Compal reported consolidated revenues of NT$64.756 billion (US$2.17 billion) for March, increasing 42.99% on month and 8.58% on year, and those of NT$167.227 billion for January-March, rising 3.38% on year.
