Adata April sales drop by 30%

Friday, May 10, 2013

Memory module firm Adata Technology saw its April sales decline more than 30% sequentially due to a slowdown in demand from channels.

Adata has announced consolidated revenues of NT$2.26 billion (US$76.4 million) for April 2013, representing decreases of 31.6% sequentially and 4.7% from a year ago. DRAM modules accounted for 54.25% of Adata's April sales, and NAND flash and other products took up the remainder.

Adata accumulated NT$9.9 billion in consolidated revenues from January through April, a 4.8% increase from the same period of 2012.

Downstream distributors have slowed down their pace of orders since April, while a recent pick-up in orders from system clients arrived too late to contribute to the company's sales performance in the month, Adata said.

However, orders placed by system companies is continuing their growth momentum as the peak season approaches, Adata indicated.
