Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) have reported NT$51.79 billion (US$1.74 billion) in May sales, respectively, up 3.4% sequentially.
Consolidated sales at TSMC rose to a record high in May 2013, up 17.2% from a year earlier. The company's revenues in April and May totaled NT$101.86 billion.
TSMC expects to post sales growth of about 17% sequentially in the second quarter to NT$154-156 billion, the foundry disclosed at its most-recent investors meeting. Strong IC demand for mobile devices, particularly demand coming from emerging markets, will drive the growth, it added.
