Powertech Technology (PTI), which specializes in backend services for memory ICs, has announced consolidated sales for May 2013 fell 20.6% from a year ago to NT$3.15 billion (US$105 million).
The sales figure on a sequential basis represents a slight 1.2% increase, however.
PTI accumulated NT$15.47 billion in consolidated revenues from January through May, an about 6% decrease from the same period of 2012.
Market watchers expect PTI to post up to 5% sequential growth in second-quarter sales, driven mainly by rising orders for mobile DRAM chips as well as NAND flash and logic ICs.
PTI has reiterated plans to reduce its exposure to the standard DRAM market, which has been negatively affected by weak PC sales, and the company's move to expand its offerings for NAND flash memory and logic ICs.
PTI revealed at its most-recent investors meeting that of its overall sales in the first quarter of 2013, the DRAM segment accounted for 42% followed by NAND flash with 34% and logic ICs 24%. PTI's sales ratio between DRAM products, NAND flash and logic chips was 64:34:2 during the same period a year
