Macronix International expects to report significant revenue growth sequentially starting July. Revenues for the third quarter of 2013 are set to register a substantial increase on quarter, according to the company.
Meanwhile, the visibility of orders placed for NOR flash products has improved on seasonal factors, Macronix indicated. The company expressed optimism about its shipment and revenue performance during the third quarter.
NOR flash sales contributed about 67% to Macronix' overall revenues in the first half of 2013, followed by ROM products with 22% and foundry services 11%, the firm disclosed. Of its flash sales, chips built using a newer 75nm node accounted for 15% in the first quarter of 2013 , while the proportion of ROM revenues for 45nm also climbed. Macronix has also started commercial production of 32Gb ROM chips using 45nm process technology, the company disclosed.
Macronix reportedly has been a key ROM memory supplier for Nintendo's game consoles. Macronix with its NOR flash chips has also cut into the supply chain for Sony's PlayStation 4.
In other news, Macronix announced consolidated net sales of NT$1.78 billion (US$59 million) for June 2013, up 8.6% on month but down 9.3% from a year ago. Accumulated sales from January through June totaled NT$9.635 billion, a decrease of 12.6% compared to the same period in 2012.
