Ultra HD TV panel pricing could drop by as much as 10% throughout August 2013, according to market observers.

The panels have already dropped from US$500 to US$450 while 55-inch units have dropped from US$580 to US$540, the observers noted.

Additionally, the LCD TV panel market expects to see drops in pricing. Open cell TV panels sized 32-inch are already less than US$94 while 42-inch units have dropped to around US$260.

The observers also said that Ultra HD TV pricing is expected to drop another 20% in China during the nation's October 1 holiday period to around US$800.
