Taiwan-based smartphone vendor HTC on August 5 reported consolidated revenues of NT$15.728 billion (US$524 million) for July, the lowest monthly level since March 2013 with an on-month drop of 28.75% and on-year drop of 37.15%, and those of NT$129.184 billion for January-July, decreasing on year by 29.74%.
As HTC forecasts consolidated revenues of at least NT$50 billion for the third quarter of 2013, the company has to generate at least NT$17.14 billion in August and September each to attain the goal.
HTC will unveil the New HTC One mini, a 4.3-inch smartphone with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 1.4GHz dual-core processor, in Taiwan on August, with the smartphone to be launched in a few main markets initially in August and then all of other main markets in September.
