Amazon has asked Taiwan-based ODMs to ship more than one million 7-inch Kindle Fire HD tablets monthly in October and November to meet expected demand, according to sources with the supply chain.

Amazon unveiled the entry-level 7-inch Kindle Fire HD in late September and the device will be for sale at US$139 for the 8GB version and at US$169 for the 16GB version in early October, the sources indicated.

Mainly due to its competitive pricing, the 7-inch Kindle Fire HD is expected to see good sales in October and November, the sources said.
