Samsung Electronics has introduced the Galaxy J into the Taiwan market after unveiling the model in Japan in November. The new model will target the high-end segment.
The Galaxy J is equipped with a 5-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display, a Qualcomm 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 CPU, 13-megapixel camera and 3GB RAM, supporting LTE technology as well as Galaxy Gear.
Sales of the Galaxy J will not affect sales of Samsung's latest flagship model, the Galaxy S4, since there is a wide disparity in hardware specifications between the two models, asserted Andy Tu, president of the mobile communications unit at Samsung Electronics Taiwan.
Samsung ranked as the top supplier in Taiwan's smartphone, mobile phone and tablet markets in October, Tu said, citing data compiled by local retain channels.
