Foxconn Electronics (Hon Hai Precision Industry) is cooperating with Mozilla to develop a tablet featuring Firefox OS.
Taiwan-based chipmaker VIA Technologies will also join the project.
The project is aiming to offer hardware, software and application designers opportunities to develop Firefox OS-based products. Mozilla will provide operating system (OS), development guides and OS upgrades and maintenance, while Foxconn will focus on providing hardware platforms.
VIA has recently announced a partnership with Mozilla to support and develop Firefox OS for new device form factors.
