The Ministry of Information and Communications (MoIC) and Microsoft signed a memorandum of understanding in Hanoi on March 6, expanding on the two parties' three year agreement in 2007 to foster IT advancements in Vietnam.
VoV reported that Microsoft will provide technological support in aid of the country's IT infrastructure modernisation, network security and cloud computing development. The firm will also give the ministry access to its cybersecurity reports to raise security levels where necessary, and conduct seminars on IT safety and cloud computing.
MoIC Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Hong said in the same report that the cooperation between the ministry and the IT giant has come a long way since the signing of a strategic partnership agreement between State and businesses from its inception through 2010.
In addition to Microsoft's MoU with MoIC, Microsoft has also signed one with the Vietnam Computer Emergency Response Team to thwart the increasing risks of unsecure information, thereby strengthening computer and network security.
