Toshiba America Electronic Components Inc. has unleashed the TMPV7502XBG as the latest addition to its portfolio of image recognition processors. Intended for miniaturised camera modules, the TMPV7502XBG features a one-channel video input interface, a small (11 x 11mm) package and low power consumption (typ. 0.6W).
The processor is geared for advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), which identify and recognise oncoming and surrounding vehicles and pedestrians from the in-vehicle cameras. Offering fast, accurate image detection, the TMPV7502XBG is capable of performing multiple detections simultaneously, such as a lane departure warning, collision warning, pedestrian detection and traffic sign recognition, detailed Toshiba.
The TMPV7502XBG's small package size enables it to be integrated directly into the camera module, simplifying installation and reducing cost.
The TMPV7502XBG's fast and accurate image recognition is achieved through multi-core processor architecture and multiple video processing engines. Samples of the TMPV7502XBG are shipping, with mass production scheduled to commence in November 2014. Reference pricing begins at $35.
