As of today, the Electronic Measurement Group of Agilent Technologies is now operating as Keysight Technologies. For the time being, Keysight will operate as a subsidiary of Agilent until early November, when it will become a publicly traded company.
This is, of course, the third name for the business, having been the original business started by Bill Hewlett and Dave Packard in 1939. Agilent severed itself from HP in 1999 and now Bill and Dave's core business is once again independent.
On Tuesday, August 5, Keysight Technologies will exhibit at the IEEE EMC Symposium in Raleigh, N.C. It will be the first trade show with the new name. I'll be there and will be sure to take a photo at the Keysight booth. According to the company, all products on display and those now shipping bear the new name.
Bill and Dave are surely smiling. It's too bad that the computer company still bears their names.
