Virtium, a supplier of infrastructure SSDs and industrial memory modules, has extended its embedded infrastructure market support with a couple of DDR4 VLP UDIMM and VLP RDIMM memory modules. Providing power savings up to 40 per cent and nearly double the bandwidth compared to previous-generation DDR3 modules, the DDR4 modules are intended for server blades, networking and telecom applications, stated the company.
Virtium claims to be one of the first to offer DDR4 memory modules, and the company's latest modules give embedded-industrial OEMs increased performance, lower power and higher bandwidth advantages thanks to the latest evolution in DRAM technology.
The latest DDR4 modules are offered ULP, VLP and standard height UDIMM in 4GB and 8GB densities as well as ULP, VLP and standard height RDIMM available in 4GB, 8GB and 16GB densities. They feature low 1.2V configurations with data transfer speeds of 2133MT/s, added Virtium.
Virtium's DDR4 VLP UDIMM and VLP RDIMM modules are available.
