AMD CEO Lisa Su is planning to visit Lenovo in China and Asustek Computer, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) and Acer in Taiwan in the near future to tighten its relationships and explain its latest product roadmap, according to sources from the upstream supply chain.
Through the visits, AMD is also looking to receive partners' support for its entry into the tablet, smartphone and wearable device markets, the sources said.
AMD has formed a tight partnership with Asustek, outsourcing its southbridge chip R&D to the Taiwan vendor's subsidiary ASMedia, and has also cooperated with Asustek to jointly develop next-generation APUs, the sources added.
