Monday, November 17, 2014

After adopting the system for a year now, Microsoft Korea CEO James Kim said that teamwork improved and collaboration among employees increased. He also held that the new mobile workplace would create a new IT ecosystem and become a model for other companies in Korea.

According to the company, the cloud-based office tools enables employees to share schedules and files as well as work on projects anywhere and anytime, thus increasing daily collaboration from two hours to as much as 4.5 hours.

A company survey revealed that nine out of 10 employees are satisfied with the new scheme, owing to flexible working hours and remote working made possible by newly installed mobile office devices and systems.

In addition, the head office got rid of partitions or walls, allowing for greater cooperation among different teams and individuals. The company also stopped providing designated seats for employees, while providing more space for meetings, which can be used by workers any time even without prior reservations.

Since adopting the new system, Microsoft Korea has received 45,000 visitors, which include government officials and executives of partner companies.
