Macronix International today announced the unaudited financial results for the first quarter of this year, that net revenues decreased 21% sequentially and decreased 2% over the first quarter 2014 to US$149.86 million; net income was US$-11.37 million;EPS was NT$-0.1, a substantial improvement compared to the last quarter.

The company announced the sales in the first quarter from ROM revenue accounted for 14% of net sales, a decrease of 26% year-over-year and a sequential decrease of 66%. The unit shipments of ROM decreased 39% year-over-year and decreased 63% sequentially.

NOR flash products accounted for 65% of net sales, a decrease of 3% year-over-year and a sequential decrease of 2%. The unit shipments of Flash decreased 2% year-over-year and decreased 1% sequentially.

NAND flash products accounted for 6% of net sales, an increase of 286% year-over-year and a sequential increase of 10%. The unit shipments of Flash increased 342% year-over-year and decreased 3% sequentially.

Sales in FBG(Foundry Business Group) products accounted for 15% of net sales, an increase of 1% year-over-year and a sequential increase of 10%.

The outlook in the second quarter, Macronix will continue to develop high-density advanced process products, including 32nm ROM, 55nm NOR Flash and 36nm NAND Flash products. As regards the applications market, will be the automobile and consumer products.

It is worth noting that the Macronix's NAND Flash products sales is growing rapidly , the YoY of shipment is 342 percent, therefore Macronix separated the NAND Flash to an independent category in financial report since this quarter.

Miin Wu, president of Macronix, said: "Macronix team is trying to turn a profit, and the biggest key is that revenue can be increased." Based on the current market demand and Macronix's product lines, high-density NAND Flash products will be key to the profitability of Macronix in the coming years.
