Microsoft is working on a comeback high-end mobile

Wednesday, August 19, 2015

Rumors of a possible Surface phone prepared by Microsoft aren't new, but now that the company is rethinking its mobile strategy and planning to focus more on devices that could help it become a more important player in this side of the industry

Needless to say, Microsoft will launch the device with Windows 10 Mobile, but there were some rumors that the company was also trying to make it possible for the phone to run Win32 apps. This way, the “productivity on the go” concept would be pushed to a completely new level, but there are obviously lots of factors that need to be considered, including battery life.

The Surface Phone could launch with a 5.5-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1440x2560 pixels and with Gorilla Glass 4 coating. It might be powered by an Intel Atom X3 64-bit processor and come with up to 4 GB of RAM (depending on the version you choose).

There will be a 21-megapixel camera with PureView branding and an 8-megapixel front unit with a wide angle foe selfies.

Microsoft is planning to offer several storage options, including 64 GB and 128 GB, while microSD card support will be there to expand it to a maximum of 256 GB.

Additionally, the device will also sport other high-end features, such as a Surface Pen for easy drawing and writing (which would more or less make it a rival for Samsung's Note lineup), USB Type-C and wireless charging

Again, keep in mind that these are just rumored specs and take them with a pinch of salt until the project is confirmed.
