Linear Technology has introduced a triple-output step-down regulator that powers all three rails (VDDQ, VTT, and VTTR or VREF) of new QDR4 and older DDR/QDR SRAM. The LTM4632 ìModule regulator comes in a lightweight LGA package that measures 6.25mm x 6.25mm x 1.82mm and can be soldered on the backside of a PCB, detailed the company.
Operating from an input voltage of 3.6V to 15V, the LTM4632 furnishes two ±3A output rails, both sink and source capable, for VDDQ and VTT, plus a 10mA low-noise reference VTTR output. Both VTT and VTTR track and are equal to VDDQ/2. Two LTM4632 regulators in parallel can provide up to 6A per rail for larger memory banks. Output voltage ranges from 0.6V to 2.5V.
The LTM4632 integrates a triple-output DC/DC regulator, divide-by-two circuit, power switches, inductors and support components in its ultrathin package. It is rated for operation over a temperature range of -40°C to 125°C. Prices start at $7.35 each in lots of 1000 units.
