Lattice Semiconductor Corporation and Synopsys have signed an OEM agreement that extends the use of Synopsys’ Synplify Pro FPGA synthesis tools for Lattice field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs) and complex programmable logic devices (CPLDs).

With the deal, Synopsys will remain the exclusive provider of logic synthesis technology for Lattice products that are optimized for quality, area and runtime for designers working on FPGAs and CPLDs from Lattice.

The synthesis tool allows FPGA designers to meet timing goals and lower overall product costs, while at the same time minimize the resources required for FPGA design. In Lattice programmable logic devices, Synplify Pro enables a 3X faster runtime with multiprocessing and meet timing in the smallest area; at the same time it provides comprehensive language support. The Synopsys tool is integrated into Lattice’s Diamond and ispLEVER design software families.
