The global mobile DRAM market share held by Samsung Electronics has hit a record-high level in Q3, according to DRAMeXchange.
Samsung saw its sales revenue from mobile DRAMs in the third quarter rise 22.4 percent to US$2,960 million from $2,418 million in the second quarter. The mobile DRAM market share claimed by Samsung has increased to 64.5 percent in the third quarter from 6.5 percent in the second.
This is the highest record ever achieved by the company since the market research firm compiled mobile DRAM market share data.
As for SK Hynix, the runner-up, its market share declined by 2.3 percentage points to 22.8 percent in the third quarter from 25.1 percent in the previous quarter. Micron Group also suffered a setback from 11.4 percent in the second quarter to 10.6 percent in the third. Nanya of Taiwan saw its third-quarter sales growth rate soar 43.2 percent to gain the market share of 1.3 percent from 1.1 percent in the second.
