ARM revenue up on Q4

Wednesday, February 15, 2017

ARM had Q4 revenues of £402 million compared to £266 million for Q3.

Licensing revenue was £169 million, royalty revenue was £210 million and software and services revenue was £23 million.

The UK staffing level was 1853 in Q4 up from 1770 in Q3.

When SoftBank bought ARM last June it undertook to double the UK employee numbers by 2020. “As an integral part of this transaction, we intend to at least double the number of employees employed by ARM in the UK over the next five years,” said SoftBank in an undertaking which was said to be ‘legally binding’.

Worldwide employment grew to 4584 from Q3’s 4438. Technical staff numbers grew from 3602 to 3736.

43 licenses were signed in the quarter of which 32 were for Cortex, eight were for Mali and three for ‘Classic’ cores ARM7, ARM9 and ARM11.
