Another day, another rumor about the bidding for Toshiba Corp.’s (6502JP) NAND flash chip unit, this time with Apple (AAPL).
Japanese publication Yomiuri Shimbun this morning reports Apple is possibly among the bidders, citing unnamed sources, according to a Google translation of the report.
This follows a report from Nikkei late yesterday that U.S. chip maker Broadcom (AVGO) is interested.
Prices talked about thus far have been as high as $18 billion for the unit.
Toshiba stock rose nearly 6% Friday to close at 241.40 Japanese yen.
