The monthly contract price of 8GB DRAM modules stayed at around $60 in December, while 4GB modules are around $30, reports DRAMeXchange.

In the Q1 contract discussions between the DRAM suppliers and OEMs a general consensus has emerged that prices of 8GB modules for Q1 contracts will be around $55 or even lower.

This implies that the price of 8GB modules will drop by at least 10% MoM in January, and continue to fall in February and March.

DRAMeXchange expects a drop of 20% in Q1 with server DRAM declining most.

Micron had the biggest drop in prices in 4Q18 and lowered its inventory level promptly.

This price decline may continue all year.
