IC design house MediaTek saw its August revenue climb to a record high of NT$32.72 billion (US$1.12 billion).

MediaTek's revenue for August 2020 represented increases of 22.6% sequentially and nearly 42% on year, driven by a pull-in of orders for new 5G smartphones and gaming phones.

MediaTek is on track to see its third-quarter revenue come within the guidance range of NT$82.5 billion to NT$87.9 billion, with a possibility of outperforming the estimate, market observers believe.

MediaTek disclosed its cumulative 2020 revenue through August increased 18.9% on year to NT$187.88 billion.
