Vaccination required to go to work

Wednesday, December 23, 2020

The Yale School of Management recently held a virtual summit where they asked attendees to weigh in on COVID-19 vaccines.

Those surveyed – current or former CEOs of major companies – were asked whether they were open to vaccine mandates for employees.

According to reports, 72% signaled they were.

CNN says some executives indicated they would want to wait and see how the early rollout goes before mandating vaccines for workers.

It also says the survey did not specify whether mandatory vaccines would be for all workers, or just workers who operate in close proximity to others.

Still, Jeffrey Sonnenfeld, founder of the Yale Chief Executive Leadership Institute, characterized it as “a surprising amount of openness to the idea of mandates for vaccines."

There is legal precedent for mandating vaccinations, and some companies already require employees to be vaccinated for certain diseases or viruses, including the flu.

The CEO of American Airlines, an attendee of the summit, even suggested that some nations might mandate vaccinations for crew and passengers before planes could enter their countries.
