Macroblock Inc. and Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) have collaborated in a drone project and built a “Smart Drone Station” to demonstrate a remote-operated drone cockpit at the ongoing Smart City Summit & Expo 2023 in Taipei, Taiwan.

The aerial operation station has been attracting international visitors’ eyeballs, as Macroblock and ITRI demonstrate a more intelligent and safer operation station for drone applications at the booth.

Infrastructure maintenance and inspection are often carried out by workers at high-risk environments, and this is especially true in costly and vital “Transmission Tower Maintenance.” To keep the guardians of public infrastructures safe, Macroblock’s P0.75 curved LED display along with ITRI’s smart drone may assist workers to clean and inspect transmission line insulators in a remote-operated drone cockpit, a safer and smarter work environment.

At Smart City 2023 in Taipei, Macroblock first launches the Aerial Operation Control Station to allow visitors to experience the immersive control of the seamless, high-resolution curved LED display for drone operation. Macroblock and ITRI combined the two applications, LED display cockpits and drones, for infrastructures on intelligent and safer maintenance and inspection.
