U.S. Tariffs Cost Stellantis $350 Million So Far

Wednesday, July 23, 2025

U.S. tariffs have wiped €300 million ($349.2 million) off Stellantis’ revenues so far this year and some industry experts expect the auto group to lose up to $1.7 billion ($1.97 billion) by the end of 2025.

The company’s losses were exposed in its preliminary first-half financial assessment published ahead of Stellantis' full second quarter 2025 earnings, scheduled for release July 24.

Stellantis says in the report that its expected losses are a direct result of the 25% tariffs on imported automobiles imposed by U.S. President Donald Trump’s administration, plus the company’s essential planned production cuts in response to lower vehicle sales.

The pan-American/European auto group has 14 brands under its control and has manufacturing plants on both continents.

It now forecasts revenues for the first half of 2025 of €74.3 billion ($86.1 billion) with a net loss of €2.3 billion ($2.66 billion), some of it attributed to the impact of U.S. tariffs.

Stellantis is also exposed to even steeper tariffs being threatened by Trump on imports to the U.S. from Brazil, where it has three plants producing Fiat, Jeep and Citroën vehicles.
